Hello, everyone! I'm thrilled about this online resource. I became aware of Martijn through his hand research website, which is fantastic, and look forward to all that we can learn from each other.

I started paying close attention to hands when I was a hand model a decade ago. (When you're in the business, you start noticing everyone else's hands.) They're the first things I notice about people and through close observation, I've learned to form impressions of people quickly through their hands.

I'm self-taught - having amassed a collection of palmistry books. But would like to go beyond the books and find some mentors who can lend their guidance. Only recently, I've begun collecting palm prints and photos of hands. I've started with people who are in the medical field, as well as patients with varying illnesses.

My primary interest is in vocational palmistry, with a holistic approach. I'm adopted and am also fascinated by markings that we might share with our biological siblings or parents - innate talents.

Looking forward to participating in this group and send my best from Texas!

Hi Kim,
Welcome to the forum. Interesting to hear that you first paid attention to hands when you were a hand model. I'm also interested to hear about your hand print collection of people who have various illnesses, that would make for a fascinating study. There must be loads in the hands that we don't yet know for sure about health matters. Hope you enjoy the forum & great to see you participating already. Hi from Kim 898444 I'll reply later on the other thread about that line above your heart line.

best wishes
Lynn

Hi Martijn and Lynn,

Hands are truly fascinating. I didn't pay much attention to them until I supported myself as a hand model. During that time, I worked with a few ad agencies and production companies on a consistent basis and started to notice that most of the photogs had similar hand shapes (square/earth), that the impatient clients had short fingers and that the sales people/biggest talkers (who were into every detail) had long fingers. I had to sit for long periods of time without moving and mentally, I made a game of "what does this person do for the agency?"

A decade later, I've recently taken a temporary job at a hospital while our economy improves and I transition into a new profession. The upside of a job in the largest medical center in the world is a steady stream of patients, visitors and doctors. I used to sit on the lobby and (bored to death) made a game of watching hands again. I've noticed certain types of physicians tend to have a certain hand shape. And the coloring and shape of patients' hands tends to be similar for various illnesses (extremely long fingers and heart issues - marfan disease, the decrease in lines of people who have recently come out of a coma). not to mention, the clubbed thumb of an abusive spouse. I've taken the prints of some doctors, but due to HIPAA laws can't reveal anything patients have shared until I get written permission.

I recently found some biological (half) siblings and look forward to collecting their prints to see what tendencies we share, as revealed through our hands. Stay tuned!

Hello Kim,

'Part 2' of your introduction sounds even more fascinating. In various situations, did you usually make you observations from a distance? Or did you also ask people to show their hands so that you could study some of the details.

Sure, Marfan syndrome is well-known for it's unusual hand characteristics. But the decrease of lines after coma, is that also known as a medical fact?

I am looking forward to read 'part 3'!

Hi Kim,

What are the HIPAA laws? Haven't heard of it before.
