Pinky finger curvature (clinodactyly) may signal cognitive decline Clinodactyly1

Fifth finger curvature (clinodactyly) was significantly associated with cognitive decline across the life span - according a 2012 study:

The article concluded like this -
"Conclusion: varying minor physical anomalies may accumulate to provide a marker of factors impacting life span cognitive change. Curvature anomalies may reflect the common causes underlying cognitive and physical decline."

Here is an article I hope this will help one to understand MPA or Down syndrome or cognitive decline a bit more. Fifth finger curvature (clinodactyly) was one of many symptoms significantly associated with cognitive decline.
This is the report posted on net some four years back in the year 2008.

Yes Parender, that is correct.

'Clinodactyly' is also a common feature in Down syndrome (80%) - though in Down syndrome the pinky finger tends to be very short as well (a short, curved pinky finger is known as a typical feature in Down syndrome that is not commonly seen in the general population).

But there are about 60 conditions (including autism) & syndromes where 'clinodactyly' is more often seen than in the general population.
