Ring Finger

I was with a friend of mine recently, and she asked me to look at her hands again. We were outside and it was a little cool. All her fingers were normal color except both her ring fingers. They were both completely white/pale. I just felt so sad looking at them. She has recently lost her Dad to a battle with cancer. Is that an indication of her depression, or more than that?

She has told me she has not been feeling well with all the past stress concerning her father and then with his passing. I have read that the Apollo finger has been associated with the cardiovascular system (her fingers show lack of circulation), blood pressure, thymus gland, depression, cancer (in men only prostate cancer?). Maybe it is Reynaud’s syndrome, or some form of it. I know the whole hand needs to be looked at (and she is going to take some pictures of her hands and let me post them here) but it was so very obvious and strange to see. Any opinions?

did you check whether this difference in colors is same at other times also?

I also thought that maybe the hand overall had redness, except for that one finger. Red hands have various meanings, and was she wearing a ring on that finger?

Tap, do your recall the color of her interphalegeal creases at her joints? When grieving they will stay dark bluish for a while. Pale brings to mind something to do with circulation. Physically or emotionally 'withdrawn'. If related to her father's death, then I'd wonder if he was in some way her 'inspiration' and could get her 'fired up' to take action. Or was supportive to her in that way - regarding 'ring finger pursuits'. And she's lost that.

I had looked at her hands before and I did not see the paleness in just her ring fingers (those other times were inside and the temperature was not as cool). Good thought about the ring (cutting off circulation?). She was not wearing rings on those fingers that night. I did not get a good look at the interphalegeal creases. When I looked at her hands, I remarked immediately about her ring fingers (asked if she was cold and said her ring fingers looked pale), and she quickly acknowledge that, and started moving them quickly and rubbing them. She has several friends, but in general she is a “keep to herself” person. She is a single mom, raising two teenage boys, and her father and family was/are her largest support. I would say in general, she tends to lack energy (on the phone I hear about her tiredness and her depression) and she seems to muster up energy for the “girls nights out”. During the time her father was so ill, she withdrew quite a bit (from her friends), because she was spending all her time at the hospital. Anyhow, I told her I am going to start calling her everyday to remind her to get to the doctors and have a physical like it or not (she is reluctant/afraid to go). She just sent me her pictures this morning and I am posting them. By the way she is age 50 and left handed.

I was asked, to ask, if anyone sees any other health issues in her hands that she should know about.
She knows that her circulation may not be real good (prob Reynaud's syndrome) and she should start trying to be more active again. I also told her to use her strengths to get out of this depression and she would start to feel better (I suggested she start using her index finger more, like to point with it).
With the combination of her depression, and her fear of maybe she is
ill, she does not want to go to the doctor. I told her I don't see
anything of great concern and she should just go to ease her mind, but she wants another opinion. Anyone have anything to add/opinion?

Hi Tap,
I don't see the pale Apollo finger indications you have mentioned.
Even the Jupiter and Mercury are looking pale.

In her left hand, if you notice, the life line is broken in pieces at its end.

In her right hand, its been taken over by the line of Saturn starting from around 40. There are 2 diagonally horizontal lines cutting it at its end section. The upper is a smaller and lighter, while a lower one is stronger and lengthy. The upper one doesn't cause much change, while a lower one causes a little shift inside n' then the line comes out and curves along the projection of earlier portion.

I hope, you're able to see and understand what I have written so far.

So, a feeling of having unsettled, have lost the ground and rooted-ness is causing her to put efforts in trying to settle out. A good routine and addressing her body needs of good sleep, rest and food intake and social needs of getting along people should help her find a solid foundation.

However, personally, addressing the family needs was everything for her. With the diagonal markings, some renewal could be found in the life style after the interruptions.

As for as any propensities for any health indications, it could have been better if we were able to see the ridges. You can check it for your self for any broken ridges for identifying possible indications of ill-health.

I will let her know. She is making the efforts you speak of (rest, eating better, started yoga this past weekend and just getting outside). She is hoping those changes will help her to come out of her depression and feel better, and she does seem in better spirits. She also seems not to be worrying as much, feeling more confident like she can get through this. She has rescheduled an appointment with the doctor for a general physical (and to address some asthma issues)that she had to cancel months ago because of her fathers illness. Her father passed from smoking related cancer which spread, and she smokes too, and this plays on her mind.I don't know what to say about her circulation and her ring fingers being so pale in the cool temperature, but hopefully all her efforts will change that.

According to the pictures it seems to me that it is not the ring finger that is a matter of concern. The matter of concern is her abnormal index finger obviously.

We know that a good length well- proportioned, lively expressive index finger will convey a good ability as an organizer, authoritarian capabilities and teaching abilities. But here
The index finger here is longer than the Ring finger and heavier too; therefore is not well-proportioned so it would indicate experiences of loneliness and dryness in relationship. Such an index finger also shows good cooking abilities and care for the house and children. This definitely denotes self- sacrifice. It may indicate the scarifying of inner development because of the duties of the house and dependents. This is due to hormones and we cannot choose our parents.

Hestia's (daughter of Jupiter) anonymity is hard toil and carrying the heavy burdens of the world in a self- sacrificing fashion. This will depend of course on other components in the lines. Hestia can be seen in a man's hand as well as in a woman's hand.

This life style of self isolation is sometimes knowingly or otherwise chosen by the person. A too-long index finger and strong in expression can mean she had been an excessively domineering person, which, together with other components, show extreme love of independence, lack of consideration up to callousness , tyrant earlier.

A prideful mother who can "mother" herself and her children too (sometimes even out of marriage institution due to circumstances), quite well, who implies the enfolding, ultimately, becomes the dignified aloneness of what one is.She has a formation of lines that seems me as the ring of Saturn. This is not good for married life and causes instability.

She must be passing through change of life too. So anger, heat wave, frustration due to bad past experiences can be there and this can irritate her further. Line of life is not deep further so it is becoming difficult for her to find the solutions to the challenges which she is facing, or to throw away the worries. Her digestion system is also not good. Her coldness can affect every field of her life badly. Even good mounts or good lines will not come to her help because her inactiveness and laziness and giving up hope will stop her to make use of these qualities. So she should never give up and auto suggests herself that tomorrow is still there.

For remedies, she must have faith in Almighty; eat good food only, pray and love and keep herself busy like a busy bee (Busy bee has no time for sorrows) and take two spoonful of honey early in the morning before taking anything, considering first spoon of honey will give peace and another worldly progress. This will boost energy in her. About health problems we hand analysts must not take a doctor’s role, we cannot.

I want to put some thought into it, but for now I will give
a quick response before I go to work this am.


I saw her index finger as being an issue too. To me the middle section looks deflated and red where the horizontal line is cutting through it. She also has some strong horizontal lines on the mount below. I believe that this is from holding her index finger in a closed position towards the palm a lot. You know, like with hand gestures.
She has not been using her index finger qualities recently, yet she must have used them before,
as seen be the deflation in the middle section. I really can’t imagine her as ever
being a tyrant though. EDIT Okay, I do see her mars mount looks like it was large and may be some of the driving energy at this point, especially since the venus mount is not full. I am sure you have experience in seeing a large mount of mars with a small mount of venus before. She is warm to her family and close friends. I am not seeing the ring of Saturn, but there are two lines, which are angled under the finger, in a somewhat ring formation. She is struggling due to a lot of family issues that have put stress on her. This is putting a toll on her mind and body, which is not good for her health, and she knows it. Although, she may be worrying about her health too much. I too agree that she needs to become more active and to find time to do something that balances her out. Find other areas in life to devote some of her time and energy. Needs to balance out the area on her thumb side. “She should never give up” seems like wonderful advice, and as she comes out of her depression, I believe she won’t give up. Really, some very good advice you have given and I will read through it again this pm. Thanks for your time and advice.
