Kidney Issues Empty Kidney Issues

Post  GoodPalmist Thu Oct 14, 2010 12:59 pm

Martijn,

Per your instructions, I'm starting the new thread.

On a recent trip, I met a 63 year old man. I got friendly with him and during a conversation, he mentioned that he discovered at age 54 during a routine medical examination that he had only one kidney.

I asked to see his palm. I didn't see any abnormalities that jumped out at me.
Any ideas what I should have looked for ? I don't have a pic unfortunately.

Kidney Issues Empty Re: Kidney Issues

Hello Goodpalmist,

(Thanks for re-introducing this topic!! Thumbs up! )

Well, I must admit that I have no experience at all regarding the very unusual experience of this man (because I think the story implicates that unitil that age he did not have any serious health problem - that could be related to his 'handicap').

Anyway, because we are talking about the seriously abnorma ASYMMETRY in his body - I think the most sensible strategy would be to look for significant difference between his right- and left hand. I would expect to find some unusual asymmetries in his dermatoglyphics, which are most likely to be found in the hypothenar (mount of moon) - though one should also check for the path of the a-, b-, c- and d-line (which start in the triradii below the fingers).

I hope this makes sense for you!?

Let's hope that other members can share any specific experience with this topic,

Thanks!
