AGE CALCULATION FROM LIFE LINE
Dear Members,
I am Rajeev Sharma. I am glad to be associated with this group.
I am an amature palm reader.
However, every now and then, i face problem with age calculation on life line.
What do you follow. I mean some books say that the length from the origin to the bracelets is 70 years and others say it is nearly 100 years.
Please share your views and experience.
Regards
Rajeev

Hello Rajeev Sharma (alias rajeevkrsharmaji),
In my perception the issue of timing the hand lines should be assessed to belong to the most superstitious aspects of traditional palmistry - there is no single piece of evidence available in supportive of such practices. And therefore any model suggesting that 'timing' from the lines can safely be ignored.
However, meanwhile many palmists have continued to explore the many available models... but palmists usually tend to end frustrated with any available model in order to choose for the last available option: a desperate attempt to build a self-made model, etc.
Anyway, over the years various time models have been described & discussed in these other topics:
https://www.modernhandreadingforum.com/t594-timing-techniques-for-the-hand-lines
https://www.modernhandreadingforum.com/t2110-can-the-length-of-the-life-line-predict-longevity
https://www.modernhandreadingforum.com/t296-which-time-scale-of-fate-line-fits-in-your-practice
So, basically I think the truth is not far away from my perception that it's basically just a myth that events can be 'timed' from the lines of the hand, but people have continued to use such models... often in an attempt to make money - especially in Asian culture, where people often are inclined by tradition to find their hope & fate in (speculative) future predictions.
Re: AGE CALCULATION FROM LIFE LINE
Thank you Martijn,
Actually, without knowing when an event is likely to take place, it is very difficult to provide some substantial help to the person who shows you your palm.
"When" is a big question in human mind.
otherwise it would just be a general discussion of the palm only.
I hope you agree to me on this.

Sorry, I have to disappoint you here. I perceive your words to represent a tunnel-vision based on superstition, because your words suggest that you apparently associate providing "substantial help" with the prediction of future events.
The truth is that according western psychology 'divination' is associated with the exploitation of superstition. And in my perception therefore it is actually realistic to say that true "substantial help" is NOT provided with activities related to divination at all. Because divination usually represents merely a form of arbitrary speculation... where at the end people get send home with basically (false) hope only.
Finally, I would like to inform you that in modern (scientific) hand reading the hand is no longer perceived to represent a divination tool... instead the hand can safely be recognized to represent an expression of biology, as it's form & function correlate with human psychology.
Re: AGE CALCULATION FROM LIFE LINE
No, it is not about giving unrealistic hope, an experienced pal reader should refrain from it.
It is the basic ethics of palm- reading.
And i agree that it involves psychology to a significant extent and the lines have to be fitted to the person and the person should not be judged based on lines alone.
It is more of a science than a superstition if handled appropriately. Therefore, i too don't believe in 'divinization'.
Thank you.
