a family of strange prints

Post  kiwihands on Thu Apr 07, 2011 1:49 am

Hi All,

During a long discussion about my right middle finger print
I was asked about my family's prints as a way of perhaps getting an idea of how such a print as mine could come about.

So here they are:
My dad's right middle finger
And my mum's

In general, in my family we find the usual ulnar loops (many with ridge counts of 1 or 2), a couple of whorls, 4 tented and 4 normal arches between my dad and brother, and 3 radial loops in my mum - two of them picture-book peacocks!

My dad has a double-loop whorl on his left thumb I think:

Any opinions on that?

Thanks for your time!
