FORUM RULES & GUIDELINES - "The Modern Hand Reading DOs & DON'Ts"

Post  Martijn (admin) on Fri Aug 13, 2010 12:32 pm

Dear member,

The forum moderators are pleased to report that this forum has been running 'smoothly' during the first 3 weeks of it's existence; at this early stage the Forum Terms of Service will continue to be the most important guideline.

We are also pleased to see that quite a few members have started visiting this forum on a daily basis. The moderators will continue searching for more forum improvements.

We ask you to apply the following 4 forum rules
as strictly as possibly:

FORUM RULE 1 - Please read the 'description' of the (sub)section before creating a new topic in that (sub)section.

NOTICE: There are only 8 basic sections (forum Ia, IIa, IIIa, VIa, Va, VIa, VIIa, and VIIIa). Each of these basic sections has a MAJOR section (which is presented as the first section) where topics can be posted that do not relate directly to any of the subsections.

When you're in doubt about using the most appropriate subsection to create a new topic, please use the related MAJOR section!

FORUM RULE 2 - Please keep the content of your posts 'on topic' (= within the range of the initial purpose of a topic/discussion).

Especially the topics in forum II (usually these are discussions created by new members who made a request for a hand reading), should not be used to discuss theories, opinions & materials which do not directly relate to the questions submitted by the member who created the discussion!

FORUM RULE 3 - Please do not use any 'adult language' at all.

Please avoid using words in your writings/materials that relate to 'specified sexual activities'.

SPECIAL ATTENTION REGARDING THE USE OF THE PM-SYSTEM:

FORUM RULE 4 - We ask all members not to use the PM system for inappropriate purposes, such as making requests for (private) readings; the PM system is only available for communication that goes beyond the purpose of the public forum.

- Forum rule 4a: to all members, please do not PM other members for answering questions about your hands.
- Forum rule 4b: to all members, please do not PM other members to ask a response to your topic.
- Forum rule 4c: to all experts, the forum moderators recommend to answer all hand reading requests inside the (public) forums; you can simply ignore requests which violate this forum rule, or you can respond to the member involved by quoting the following:

"Your request is in violation with 'FORUM RULE 4', see: http://www.modernhandreadingforum.com/t94-forum-rules-the-dos-and-don-ts "

If certain members persist in sending you such requests, you are welcome to send a report of 'continued violation of the forum rules' - these reports might enable the moderators to consider suitable actions in response to the abuse (just to protect the interests, time & energy of all other forum members).

Thank you for your time, support & sharing so far!!

The moderators decided to implement a new forum rule regarding the use of the PM system (see: FORUM RULE NO.4 in the first post of this topic); violation of this rule might result in de-activation of your PM system.

The new forum rule also describes the purpose of the PM system:

"The PM system is only available for communication that goes beyond the purpose of public forum"

We hope that the new forum rules makes sense!!

Thanks!

PM

Post  Patti on Fri Aug 19, 2011 4:38 pm

Just reminding members that it is against the rules to PM other members with questions about your hands, requests for readings or to draw attention to your topics.

I write this as I've noticed several posts in the past couple of days where members have noted that they received PMs to this effect.

The reason this is important is because generally readers are sensitive people and do not wish to reject or ignore anyone who asks for help. The general public will often take advantage of this kindness and the reader then becomes drained of energy and also leaves the forum so as not to be bothered.

Another reason is that the forum is a place where we can all learn from each other so having the discussion out in the open is very beneficial to all.

Those wishing private readings should seek out the web site that the reader has set up in order to accommodate such requests, if they have one.

Thanks!
