Medical Palmistry
Hi again everyone,
I posted a few months ago inquiring about rascette lines and longevity due to a bad experience I had. Well, over this time it still someone irks me so I'd like to ask another question. One of the other things the girl that was giving her death and doom readings said in a subsequent message to me (after the reading that is), was that she has been reading up on "medical palmistry" to better understand if someone has a poor health line or a short life, why that could be.
That said, does "medical" palmistry exist and if so, is it predictive like that or is it more of a diagnostic tool for present ailments that the inquirer has? While I don't subsribe to the whole rascette = longevity thing, an irrational part of my mind just wants to make sure there's nothing more to it. I get the feeling that this was another bid for an ego trip on said young reader's part but I thought I'd ask the experts here.
Also, I'm not sure if this would need to be a new topic, but wouldn't any form of predictive palmistry ultimately just be arbitrary anyway? Seeing patterns based on old superstitious books where there really aren't any in reality?
Many thanks!

The medical community has an interest in hands, but they focus on diagnostics, data and statistics, not intuition and predictions.

Re: Medical Palmistry
Thanks Patti,
Gosh, you know. I can't believe this negative reading has been so hard to shake. It really speaks to the power of words that you and others were talking about in another post.
Would it be fair to say then that there really is no such thing as "Medical Palmistry" as such? And that using any aspect of palmer creases (health line, life line etc) to make predictions of death or disease has been proven by both palmists and scientists to be false and erroneous? By corollary such claims as my itinerant doomsayer has made are really just hokum?
(Interestingly, she didn't stop there. She went on to say that according to her palm, her first husband will die in her thirties and that she's expecting a series of deaths in her family soon enough based on the lines on her hand - struck me as even more morbid since she was making predictions of disaster for others based on her own palm)
