The Other 2 Books of Julius Spier
Hi,
Read this in Johnny's website:
The 'Hands of Children' was but the first part of an intended trilogy, with two other volumes also on the psychology of the hand to include work on the study of the hands of the mentally ill.
Are the other 2 volumes and the content available anywhere for purchase?
Any info?

Re: The Other 2 Books of Julius Spier
Hello Kiran,
I don't think that the 2 other parts of the 'intended' triology have ever been written. So, maybe you misunderstood Johnny's comment?
(Where did Johnny exactly talk about other books?)

Hi Martijn,
No. I just read the line - "The 'Hands of Children' was but the first part of an intended trilogy, with two other volumes also on the psychology of the hand to include work on the
study of the hands of the mentally ill."
That's why I asked whether the other volumes were ever written.
But, your answered my qtn clearly.

It also says "His work was unfinished however, for he died before even his first book had been published"

Yeah Lynn. I read that.
I wanted a confirmation on the term "unfinished" as whether the writing was done and not published or it was n't written at all. (Instead of making an assumption).
However, its clear now.
Re: The Other 2 Books of Julius Spier
In the preface of his book it discusses how he died before he had finished his work and these were even his last words before he passed away!
He had planned to write "The Hands of Adults" and "The Hands of the Mentally Diseased".
His book the "Hands of Children" has some content with notes from these planned books in the last chapters. This book being finished by someone other than the author may be an explanation for why some of the illustrations do not match up to the text to which they are assigned.

Re: The Other 2 Books of Julius Spier
Hy,
Julius Spier wrote only "The hands of children", though he entended to write two more books. He died before at cancer in 1942, the day before he was deported by the Nazis. His ancestors from father's side were Jews .
His fiancee Herta Levi, who lived at that time (1942) in London issued it in English. There was also a translation into Dutch printed.
The appendix one is from J. Spier. He called it: "Specimen analyses of hands of children."
The appendix two at the end of the second edition is from Herta Levi. She called it: "The hands of mental diseased".
Regards
Manfred
