The History of Hand Reading
"The History of Handreading." by Christopher Jones.
is a very comprehensive website that takes us through the history of handreading from its origins to the end of the 20th century. Years of research went into creating these pages.

a copy of this site is also available on Johnny Fincham's website, where it was originally hosted. http://www.johnnyfincham.com/history/index.htm

I can confirm that on the internet Christopher Jones' review (which includes 5 sections, with 27 sub-sections!) is by far the most comprehensive source dealing with the history of hand reading.
