IN THE SPHERE OF SILENCE
I have taken this directly from the book "In The Sphere of Silence" By Vijay Easwaran.

Comments by others on the Book "In the Sphere of Silence"
"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that silent space, or sphere, lies our power of choice. In those choices lie our peace, balance, happiness and growth. This beautiful little book inspires silence and wise choices. I need this wisdom constantly. Prayerful, pondering, true victory, private and public, all my life. "
Stephen R.Covey author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
:This is a powerful, wise and wonderful book that will
help you reconnect with your best self."
Robin Sharma, author of The Monk who sold his ferrari
:This is a book that refuses to sit on a shelf. It belongs instead, next to your bed -- in your pocket, purse or briefcase - a spiritual teacher -- a guru or mentor. With Vijay's book as your guide, you will enter deeper into your own Sphere of Silence. The profound power you will touch and be touched by will empower you beyond your wildest dreams. "
"Effective leadership is more than what we do; it starts on the inside. Great Leaders are able to tap inner wisdom and strength by cultivating the habit of solitude. This book is a wonderful guide on how to enter the realm of silence and draw closer to God."
Kenneth Blanchard, author of The One Minute Manager.
"Vijay Easwaran has explained to us the many aspects that influence and shape our views on life."
Abdurrahman Wahid, former president of Indonesia.
"I have already used In the Sphere of Silence by qoting from it in a leadership lecture before 2,500 students, and to government leaders at a teachers' camp held by the department of education."
Fidel V.Ramos, former president of the Philippines
"This book provides thought provoking lessons that can help one achieve personal fulfillment in their professional and personal life. Its lessons re those for champions."
Lance Armstrong, Tour de France Champion.
TO MY PARENTS
My Mother, whose love for me is enshrined in my heart, who laid the fount for the curiosity of my early years. Who awoke my imagination and wonder with so many tales of yore.
My Father, whose love for me laid the foundation of my quest for knowledge with a passion, whose wisdom filled my growing years. Who invoked in me a care for mankind, the grandeur of his vision still filling me.
Thank you for the curiosity, that drove me to seek without respite and for the passion that inflames my own vision for my fellow man.
You gave me life,
You gave me love, but most of all,
You gave me the reasons for what I chose to do with life.
I dedicate this, my first endeavour,
in loving gratitude to you.
My First Gurus. (Written by the Author)
A Tribute to his parents.
This world is not for cowards.
Do not fly. Look not for success or failure. Join yourself to the perfectly unselfish will and work on. Know that the mind which is born to succeed joins itself to a determined will and perseveres.
Live in the midst of the battle of life. Anyone can keep calm in a cave or when asleep. Stand in the whirl and madness of actin and reach the centre. If you have foudn the center, you cannot be moved.
Vivekananda
In the attitude of silence the sould finds the path in a clearer light, and what is elusive and deceptive resolves itself into crystal clearness."
This quote by Mahatma Gandhi sums up the philosophy that has guided entrepreneur Vijay Eswaran throughout his life. Having sharpened his mind through the daily habit of mauna, the traditional Indian practice of silence learned at his grandfather's knee, it was only natural that the mentor in Vijay would want to share the value of this ritual with others.
Packaging it together with contemporary wisdom and management counsel, Vijay first presented his unique practice of the tranquil hour in a book aptly titled in The Sphere of Silence to the world five years ago. Since then, it has continued to blaze a trail amongst fans, prompting a reprint for a new generation searching for tools to live their lives to better effect.
Much of the appeal of In The Sphere of Silence lies in the practical instruction contained therein. As the author himself puts it, "It's not about sitting in a sea of tranquility trying to figure out the meaning of the universe. It's about taking control of your life. It begins with analysing the day that has gone by, going through the goal that you had set and seeing wht you achieved or failed to achieve and trying to derive lessons before moving on to plan the next day and beyond.
In The Sphere of Silence is not a self help book nor a New Age management to me. Rather, it is a constant companion that you turn to every day to remind you of the need to dwell in the silence of your own mind in order to get the best out of it.
Now in its second reprint, you will find within its pages a repository of ancient and contemporary wisdom that nourishes and refreshes, inspiring you to discover and fulfil your destiny.
At the core is a guide to a daily meditation practice that helps you align yourself towards achieving your goals, assimilate knowledge and strengthen your spiritual connection. It is, literally speaking, a boot - camp for the mind.
We hope you will enjoy this exceptional book and allow it to touch your life in a powerful way.

Re: IN THE SPHERE OF SILENCE
Thanks sir for the recommendation..
Though I am a very spontaneous person however I always admire the beauty of silence and therefore I wish one day I can be like my mother!
Oh that reminded me again something what RUMI said:
Silence is the language of God, All else is poor translation.
