5 Phalangeal on right hand and 4 on left
I came across your website while searching for some answers. i have VERY unusual hands. Like i have 5 segments on my right thumb while 4 on my left and lines are so deep.
does anyone know why is it. or what does this mean?

Are you able to post pictures? It is very unusual to have so many segments to the thumb. My guess is that they are not extra segments, but rather they are just creases going across, which I know as 'blocking lines', that can hold back, or frustrate, the expression of your logic/willpower/determination (as represented by the thumb).

hello Mahnoor,
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. It is better if you post your pictures here.

I don't think you have 4 / 5 phalanges on L/R thumb. The lower line where the thumb joins the hand is called the family ring, everyone has this. Then you have the normal crease line where the thumb bends. Then yes I see you have lines crossing your thumb, but they do not look like extra inter-phalangeal creases, they look like (what I call) 'blocking lines' - 2 on left thumb, 3 on right. That can be frustrating for you with regard to the logic phalanx of the thumb, how you justify yourself, and also to your assertiveness, feeling that you aren't able to assert your will on the world, not able to put your full potential into practise. My question is - what do you think is holding you back? Is it family? (I notice you have an independent headline so you have different ideas from your family's way of doing things, you are an independent thinker but probably due to circumstances where family may be unable to help you and you had to become independent / self reliant at an early age?) or is it your own self doubt / lack of confidence / shyness that holds you back from being who you want to be out in the world?

Hello mahnoor,
My short answer would be that it is quite natural to see at least one very strong horizontal lines on the middle phalange of the thumb; however, those lines should never get associated to represent extra segments or -phalanges.
I have two myself in my right hand, one in my left hand - nothing unusual... in vedic palmistry one of those lines (usually located at about 1/3 of the middle phalange) even has a specific name.
