FORUM RULES & GUIDELINES - "The Modern Hand Reading DOs & DON'Ts"
Dear member,
The forum moderators are pleased to report that this forum has been running 'smoothly' during the first 3 weeks of it's existence; at this early stage the Forum Terms of Service will continue to be the most important guideline.
We are also pleased to see that quite a few members have started visiting this forum on a daily basis. The moderators will continue searching for more forum improvements.
We ask you to apply the following 6 forum rules
as strictly as possibly:
as strictly as possibly:
FORUM RULE NO.1 - Please respect the purpose of this forum:
Modern Hand Reading has moved away from the (outdated) purposes presented by ancient palmistry.
[Those outdated purposes are: 'fortune telling' (e.g. predictive palmistry) and 'divination' (e.g. psychic palm reading); for this reason this forum is not available for these speculative purposes]
We recommend forum members who request a hand reading in forum section II to ask for verifiable, falsifiable feedback about your own hands in the perspective of your health, character, personality, and/or psychological/spiritual identity.
NOTICE: We invite you to use forum section III to explore and learn more about the many interesting purposes of Modern Hand Reading, including e.g.: Life Purpose Hand Analysis, Elemental- & PsychoDiagnostic Chirology, Vedic Palmistry & (scientific) Multi-Perspective Palm Reading!
FORUM RULE NO.2 - Please read the 'description' of the (sub-)section before creating a new topic in that (sub-)section.
There are only 8 basic sections (forum Ia, IIa, IIIa, VIa, Va, VIa, VIIa, and VIIIa). Each of these basic sections has a MAJOR section (which is presented as the first section) where topics can be posted that do not relate directly to any of the sub-sections.
When you're in doubt about using the most appropriate sub-section to create a new topic, please use the related MAJOR section!
FORUM RULE NO.3 - Please keep the content of your posts 'on topic' (= within the range of the initial purpose of a topic/discussion).
Especially the topics in forum section II (usually these are discussions created by new members who made a request for a hand reading), should not be used to discuss theories, opinions & materials which do not directly relate to the questions submitted by the member who created the discussion!
FORUM RULE NO.4 - Please do not use any 'adult language' at all.
Please avoid using words in your writings/materials that relate to 'specified sexual activities'.
SPECIAL ATTENTION REGARDING THE USE OF THE PM-SYSTEM:
FORUM RULE NO.5 - We ask all members not to use the PM system for inappropriate purposes, such as making requests for (private) readings; the PM system is only available for communication that goes beyond the purpose of the public forum.
- Forum rule 5a: to all members, please do not PM other members for answering questions about your hands.
- Forum rule 5b: to all members, please do not PM other members to ask a response to your topic.
- Forum rule 5c: to all experts, the forum moderators recommend to answer all hand reading requests inside the (public) forums; you can simply ignore requests which violate this forum rule, or you can respond to the member involved by quoting the following:
"Your request is in violation with 'FORUM RULE NO.5', see: https://www.modernhandreadingforum.com/t94-forum-rules-the-dos-and-don-ts "
If certain members persist in sending you such requests, you are welcome to send a report of 'continued violation of the forum rules' - these reports might enable the moderators to consider suitable actions in response to the abuse (just to protect the interests, time & energy of all other forum members).
THE 6TH FORUM RULE
ONLY APPLIES TO MEMBERS WHO PRESENT HAND READINGS:
ONLY APPLIES TO MEMBERS WHO PRESENT HAND READINGS:
FORUM RULE NO.6 - All hand readers (students & professionals) are asked to describe the hand characteristics that provide the basis of their hand reading(s) presented at this forum.
- IMPORTANT: The forum's moderators present this 6th forum rule only as a general (voluntary) objective; so by principle this rule does not represent a strict requirement for any of your hand readings that you present at this forum.
However, the moderator-team holds the right to start using this rule as a strict requirement to individual hand readers (after the member involved has been informed to apply this forum rule in every future hand reading that this members presents inside this forum).
- PLEASE BE AWARE: We ask all hand readers to respect forum rule no.1 (by not including speculative/suggestive elements in your reading that relate to 'fortune-telling' or 'divination' - because this is an international forum and we strive for not presenting any materials that bring arbitrary ethical- and moral considerations that could violate local laws in the majority of continents around the world (e.g. Europe, America & the Middle East). Wikipedia presents a (incomplete) summary of some current and historical local laws in various countries that relate to 'fortune-telling'.
NOTICE: This forum rule should be understood as a tool which provides the moderator team the opportunity to monitor & safeguard the interests and needs of all members who made a request to get a hand reading at this forum.
(The requirement for individual hand readers will only become activated in situations where the full moderator-team recognizes this requirement to be appropriate)
Thank you for your time, support & sharing so far!!

Re: FORUM RULES & GUIDELINES - "The Modern Hand Reading DOs & DON'Ts"
The moderators decided to implement a new forum rule regarding the use of the PM system (see: FORUM RULE NO.4 in the first post of this topic); violation of this rule might result in de-activation of your PM system.
The new forum rule also describes the purpose of the PM system:
"The PM system is only available for communication that goes beyond the purpose of public forum"
We hope that the new forum rules makes sense!!

PM
Just reminding members that it is against the rules to PM other members with questions about your hands, requests for readings or to draw attention to your topics.
I write this as I've noticed several posts in the past couple of days where members have noted that they received PMs to this effect.
The reason this is important is because generally readers are sensitive people and do not wish to reject or ignore anyone who asks for help. The general public will often take advantage of this kindness and the reader then becomes drained of energy and also leaves the forum so as not to be bothered.
Another reason is that the forum is a place where we can all learn from each other so having the discussion out in the open is very beneficial to all.
Those wishing private readings should seek out the web site that the reader has set up in order to accommodate such requests, if they have one.

Re: FORUM RULES & GUIDELINES - "The Modern Hand Reading DOs & DON'Ts"
The forum rules now include a 5th rule - SEE THE FIRST POST in this topic (actually, by principle this new forum rule serves sort of more as a general (voluntary) guideline - instead of a strict rule or requirement):
It's the very first forum rules that does not apply to all members - because the new forum rule only relates to those members who participate in the activity to give hand readings at this forum (fortunately, most of them have demonstrated the natural tendency to apply this rule in their readings before the new rule was even written!

Actually, during the first 2 years many hand readers & hand reading students have shared and developed their hand reading skills (& experience) at this forum. And far most hand readings were featured with at least some specific references to the hand characteristics that provided the basis of the reading.
However, the moderation-team has decided to present the new rule in order to underline that in order to initiate the full process of hand reading, it is important that the readings should include references to specific features of the hand. Because this does not only serve the purpose of this forum - which is basically focused on the communication about the meaning of specific hand characteristics - it also makes people who receive the reading much more aware of their own hands (which most dedicated hand readers will recognize to be one of the key-elements in realizing the full potential of hand reading: stimulating personal growth & self-awareness in the individual).
And therefore the 5th forum rule is sort of designed only for those hand readers who tend to present readings without naming any hand features at all. Because usually such readings tend to raise more questions than answers, and for the moderation-team it is very hard to monitor the quality & validity of those readings (which is a serious handicap in our efforts to safeguard the interests and needs of all members who made a request to get a hand reading at this forum!

Re: FORUM RULES & GUIDELINES - "The Modern Hand Reading DOs & DON'Ts"
I have received a complaint regarding forum rule 2. Therefore I would like to ask for more discipline regarding keeping topics on topic - especially regarding the topics in forum sections IIa, IIb and IIc (those that were created by people just to ask for a hand reading).

FORUM RULE 2 - Please keep the content of your posts 'on topic' (= within the range of the initial purpose of a topic/discussion).
Especially the topics in forum II (usually these are discussions created by new members who made a request for a hand reading), should not be used to discuss theories, opinions & materials which do not directly relate to the questions submitted by the member who created the discussion!
Re: FORUM RULES & GUIDELINES - "The Modern Hand Reading DOs & DON'Ts"
We decided to introduce a brand new forum rule (forum rule no.1) describing the purpose of this forum.
NOTICE: The earlier forum rules are now represented by forum rule no. 2 to 5.
PS. If there is enough interest then I expect to introduce a new forum section in forum 3 later this year... titled: 'Esoteric Palm Reading' - which concerns a branch of 'spiritual' hand reading (based on Rudolf Steiner's anthroposophy) that became quite popular in Germany. So, esoteric hand readings are welcome at this forum!
[i]NOTICE: We invite you to use forum section III to explore and learn more about the many interesting purposes of Modern Hand Reading, including e.g.: Life Purpose Hand Analysis, Elemental- & PsychoDiagnostic Chirology, Vedic Palmistry & (scientific) Multi-Perspective Palm Reading!
