This astonishing photo was taken last october (2012) by Arizona’s Randy Atkins - who is a professional photographer - while his wife Alicia gave birth to their daughter Neveah.
NOTICE: Doctors say that it is not unusual to see an unborn making this gesture (but such situations are never expected... and therefore these only rarely get caught on camera).

Babies are known to have an innate 'grasping' reflex, which is actually not in control of the baby! These gestures should be recognized as primitive reflex actions of the body originating in the central nervous system.
So obviously, a fetus is not really in control when it 'grasps' for a doctor's finger!
