Hi. The average hand length for a male is 189mm and the average hand length for a female is 172mm. The average width for a male is 84mm and the average width for a female is 74mm. I think my hand length is 175mm and my hand width is 75mm which is small hand compared to a male hand. How do you different out the measurement from very small, small, average, big and very big hand. I dont like hving small hand.

Hello Sengkanglee,
The hand size variations in people around the world is actually quite large, and generally in Asia the values are much lower in people from Asia.
I am sure that you picked up those values (189 mm for males and 172 mm) somewhere on the internet, such as the one reported here:
http://www.theaveragebody.com/average_hand_size.php
Now, since you are from Asia it would not be wise to compare your hand size with those values - which suggest that the average value for hand length in males and females is close to 180,5 mm, however, the values are typically close to 10 mm lower in Asians compared to Caucasians.
So, the truth is that in Asia the average values are not far away from your values; earlier this year I have reported HERE an average value of 176,1 mm (males & females combined) based on 5 populations from Asian countries.
So, your hand length is actually very close to the Asian average. Your hand length is just slightly short compared to the average in Asian males, but still well above the average of Asian females.
I could add that according the 'Handbook of Normal Physical Measurements' (see: page 240) your hand length is only about 3 mm short of 'normal hand length' (both sexes), so even in the perspective of hand length in American standards your hand length is not really unusual at all.
Actually, one should also be aware that hand length also correlates with body height; the picture below presents some guidelines which make it possible for you to see how your hand size proportions score relative to your body height.
I hope this is helpful?

PS. I have also an article available which makes it possible to put things also in the perspective of hand proportions, which also slightly vary among populations around the world, see the large table in this article:
