Hi, I'm new and I've never been on a forum before.
Hi everyone. Although I have been on numerous yahoo groups, I have never been on a forum like this before, so I am not really sure how to use it. I hope this greeting works.
Briefly, though I started palm reading when I was only 10 years old, and have practised/studied off and on for the last 38 years, just in the last 2-3 years I have got into it more seriously.
I lost interest in palm reading for about 20 years there because the books I read were too skewed towards 'good' and 'bad' palms and trying to pin down character flaws. Since I had a lot of 'bad' characteristics but was not a bad person, it put me right off! Then in returning to palm reading a few years ago, I discovered the books of Johnny Fincham (and a few others). Now I found information that chimed with my own experience and I could confirm the accuracy of what I read.
I've been looking at the various links on this forum for a few weeks. I am awestruck at the depth of knowledge it is possible to have on the subject of palm reading! I am very inspired. My former complaints about palm reading have vanished and I am eager to learn.
Looking forward to participating,
Jennifer Sheldon

Re: Hi, I'm new and I've never been on a forum before.
Hello Jennifer Sheldon,
I am very glad to hear how you used this forum during the past weeks... and finally decided to join!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts... what you described sounds very realistic to me, and actually, I agree: not every 'palmistry' book is authentic + reliable.
You are very welcome to share more details about your earlier experiences + your fascination for hand reading, etc!!

welcome Jennifer. Johnny's books are amongst my favourites too.

Ps Jennifer, just wondered if you are the same Jennifer I spoke to a while ago, on yahoo palmistry group, from Dorset area?
Yes, from Dorset
Hi Lynn
Yes, I'm the Jennifer with whom you exchanged a few e-mails in the summer!
I couldn't get the hang of the readings on that yahoo palmistry group. They weren't similar to the kind of reading I do. When I tried typing out a reading, I was amazed at how long it took. Maybe we weren't supposed to go into the sort of detail I like to?
Anyway, thank goodness I found this forum. Lots of indepth explanations! I've learned about some of my lines that I have been unable to find an explanation for all these years - my fate and heart lines merge and go to the mount of Jupiter. The reading for that was quite good news, and makes a difference from the peppering of 'bad' signs I've got in my hands.
This Sunday at a Holistic and Psychic Fayre, I am even going to give a very short and modest little talk about so-called 'bad' features/lines in the hand (with my own as the example) and some alternative interpretations.
I am nowhere near the standard of excellence and expertise that there is on this forum, but nevertheless I find myself about to open my big mouth to an audience of more than one :-) Hopefully, it will go well. At least I cannot fail to learn something!
Off to work on the presentation a lot more now so that I do not embarass myself too completely :-)

Re: Hi, I'm new and I've never been on a forum before.
Hi Jennifer, glad I recognised the correct Jennifer!
The format of the yahoo group isn't conducive to doing coherent readings, it's too fragmented. Often people give brief readings of (what i call) 'old school' type palmistry. But it is thanks to that forum that around 10 years ago I found people like Patti & Frank . Which meant that palmistry was no longer a lonely business
Great that you have learnt some things from this forum! What a great topic for your talk - dispelling the myths of ye olde 'bad signs'. I forget which ones I've got, so far I survived "death in youth" & "death in childbirth". Tho in fairness, if I had those experiences in 15th century when the meanings of those markings originated, they would probably have been true predictions.
Wishing you well in your presentation, I'm sure your audience will be amazed and intrigued! Hope you are buzzing afterwards and ready to do the next one, look forward to hearing about it.
