Dear Palmists,

What is the duty of a Palmist? To tell the nature of a person, to give prediction based on indications in the palm? To give relief to that person so that he can confidently face the world? Any other reasons you may have.

Hello Pravin Kumar,

My answer to your question is: some of the most popular hand reading systems around the world (see forum section IIIb, IIIc, IIId and IIIe) show us that hand reading... can have multiple purposes!

The purpose of Palmistry could be many but the main should be to help people to know them better.

In the original Hebrew of the book of job (chapter xxxvii, vol. 7) we find these significant words “God caused signs or seals on the hands of all the sons of men that the sons of men know their work”. Palmistry helps us to know and understand the meanings of those signs or seals on the hands caused by God to know our work, The Life Purpose.

Collectively the single point agenda that keeps me going is to make a positive difference to one’s life.

Blessed is the person who has found his work ask him no further blessedness, because, I think then the person would be working in harmony with God’s will.

Duties of a palmist should be to never to predict the death or severe accidents of a person never humiliate or discourage anyone and never express any opinion without prior careful consideration.

i dont understand how anyone can say that reading someones palm gives them confidence to face the world. After the awful reading i got, it depressed the life out of me! I dont expect to hear wonderful stories but surely there must be some care when reading someones palm and some good advice should be given along with any bad news.

I agree with you Pravin that hand reading should give people confidence to face the world.
I agree with Martijn that hand reading can have multiple purposes.
I agree with Parender about helping people to understand themselves, and his final paragraph is great advice.

destiny11 - I agree with you that there should be "some care when reading someones palm and some good advice should be given along with any bad news".

Purpose of a Palmist

After years of reading, I would say presenting the idea we are equal beings in this world with differing talents and paths, is my first idea. Second I show the easy positive qualities of their foundation and next would be the tensions of the personality.. I rather talk with the client about what is their primary concern instead of pulling a reading together from the hand....Now all of this is for a short reading, a longer reading , for me is more involved.Like the use of handwriting and the other dominances like right eye or left eye..

When it is all over, my hope is the client is watching their thoughts and creating more space on the inside, a longer fuse of reaction, and the concept we are all equal people....

Although not a professional but i like to point out that Palmistry must be used as navigation device only, just like a GPS. It is only valuable if you know where you want to go. Staring at the palm and doing nothing is just like checking the GPS sitting on conveyor belt of time and saying ahaaa i know it, before being thrown in a pit.... Very Happy

When you sit down to read someone else's palms, their future is literally in your hands. In around an hour, you will play many roles in this person's life — from counselor and spiritual advisor to mentor and coach. You will identify many unique qualities, challenges, and opportunities, but you may also help to clarify a person's sacred path in life.

As a counselor and spiritual advisor, you will take a close look at the lines on people's hands to determine how they've handled the joys, trials, and tribulations of life — and their tendencies for handling them in the future. You'll get an up-close-and-personal look at their inner selves; you'll be their trusted friend and confidant. You'll hear about the challenges they faced when young, and what their main concerns are at this point in their lives.

The information you learn during a palm reading should be kept strictly confidential! Confidentiality between reader and client is of the utmost importance and a tremendous responsibility — one that you must take very seriously if you want to be a professional palm reader. Persons especially girls share with me the things which they have not share with their best friend or even their mother. I never break their trust in me and never humiliate them.

You should never humiliate them. You should never say bluntly the oncoming untoward accident or incident if any you see; instead you should inspire, encourage them to go ahead to succeed in life. You should make them believe that they indeed are the masters of their own destiny and definitely have some choices.

In present times many Distinctive Approaches are used for a complete hand analysis.
I use all the Distinctive Approaches in Palm Reading or for a complete in-depth hand analysis report including shape of hands, their flexibility at joints, fingers, thumbs, nails, mounts, of course lines and fingerprints because I think these are made for each other.

Your role may well extend beyond mere answers to the perennial questions of life. You may also find yourself encouraging them to overcome their hindering tendencies and challenges as presented in the lines on their hands. In this sense, you will be more of a coach or mentor, instilling in them the concept that they indeed are masters of their own fate and have a choice in their behaviors or circumstances. You can be an inspiring voice — encouraging them to succeed in life!

Besides having a deep knowledge on the subject Palmistry, you would have to be familiar with human psychology, human behavior, human body language, face reading, numerology, astrology and hand writing too. Pursuing in the auxiliary activities mentioned above would support you to be efficient in this regard.

They don’t pay me for my knowledge but for the tips now how to live. I tell them understanding their potentialities. I usually tell them destiny is not carved on stone because lines change. Go for potentialities and not for predictions.

1. Let me share some of my experience with you. . . Once, one of my friend told to read his neighbour's palm. . . i agreed. . . he was 20 approximately when i gave reading and studying in nursing college. . . I remember his some hand features. independent head line and around his current age fate line was broken into many pieces. . . what should i tell him? i warned him many times that dont divert your attention and be cautious otherwise it will lead you to discontinuity of your studies and profession. . . He was a christian. . so, he did not believe it and came for reading as fun. . but, after 6 month exactly happened that thing which i predicted. . He discontinued his education and left that city as he had problem with college . i reminded my prediction to him when he about to leave the city as a consolation , also to make him understand the effects of fate..

2. In almost all cases, i have succeed in predicting teenage or premarital love life and emotional disturbance. but i know how negative prediction disturbs their mind. so i just advice them to be ready for both sequences.

3. once i read a hand of my junior girl and found that her sun line begin from her fate line around her current age. i said her you will get international fame with in this age or next. . she do not believe as she too a christian. . . but when happened the same, she told me many thanks and enjoys my presence always.

4. ONE of my aunty has long and broad island in the midst of head line. i just said her that be caution in your middle age and you may experience mental disturbance. but, i dont know whether she reached that period or not. . just observing her life.. so far no such news . . . her age may be now 32 plus..

So, it is also necessary to WARN them when we find disastrous stuff in one's palm. That also important part and purpose of palmist. Otherwise, simple encouragement will not change lazy man. . . rather it can even worsen him. . .

Unsolicited advise is perceived as sales pitch but if you get their attention by telling their past, they would more readily believe the rest.

I also believe in "shock therapy" by warning because most of the people are in auto pilot in day to day life. The way of telling make the difference and a palmist must choose the words carefully such as a difficult time is also challenging and bad signs can be a powerful motivation factors (most of the famous people had serious life challenges) Basketball

not sure about the Christians but Muslims do believe in palmistry and astrology and some time even more than the palmist.... Very Happy

i mean they think it tells the absolute future and should be avoided because it would negate free will. Well a palmist know that it is not the case and only purpose of telling what is coming is to correct it so i would not be absolute future.

I would request you to shed more light on Palmistry and Hinduism in a separate and exclusive thread.

I too interested to know what are the divination methods used by muslims? and what sort of text book or from where they got this ideas so on? i dont think, quran supports the divinations. . . ! however you can open new topic for the same. . Smile

All was mentioned in that very post. It seems you have not gone through the post properly and/or your impulsiveness forced you to ask Stalin. But I agree with you there is no doubt that. I will say even that to 'warn' is to 'armed'.

I think there is no need to tell about what are the roles of a coach or mentor.

You will identify many unique qualities, CHALLENGES, and opportunities, but you may also help to clarify a person's sacred path in life too. Their first duty is to warn them.
Everything in detail cannot be mentioned on a forum.

And while analyzing hands in-depth we do mention about their “Life Lesson” Now. What is this Your Lesson? Your "Life Purpose" cannot flourish without your coming to terms with your "Life Lesson". The way to complete satisfaction in your work lies in learning to turn your Life Lesson (miseries, curses, “I can’t get rid of that fellow”, etc) into friends.

It is self-evident. We make them afford to take their responsibility for the life-size mistakes without being self-critic. This is not warning than what is this? During the hand analysis session or while preparing the report I do mention them about their shortcomings and merits too. This is not warning than what is this?

I am where I am and emphatically say that:

I do not believe that palmistry is a divination method. Secondly I post in my previous reply that Muslim avoided this knowledge and the reason was also posted so I do not understand your rest of questions.

At best , the reader inspires transcendent values, like heroic actions, what do I follow, emotional courage, empathy and autonomy of will.The mundane values , the 10,000 things will always move and change, the inside value of " the joy that has no opposite" is forever.
