CENTURIES-OLD TRADITIONAL PALMISTRY THEORIES PROVED WRONG?
Hello,
I want to know comments of experts on this book.
http://books.google.co.in/books?id=C_9tGazLmxsC&printsec=frontcover&source=gbs_ge_summary_r&cad=0#v=onepage&q&f=false
especially when the writer Atul Venkat dares to say to UNLEARN THE OLD THEORIES.
How far his claim is justified when he says CENTURIES-OLD TRADITIONAL THEORIES PROVED WRONG?
Thanks,
Parender Sethi

I think we can easily identify Venkat's book as belonging to the branch of 'predictive palmistry'. So far I have never ever seen any evidence for any theory belonging to that branch of hand reading.
Anyway, I have glanced at the examples of 'old' and 'new' theories which Venkat describes in his book at page 3 and 4: and all I want to say is that I am not impressed by his approach to describe his observations in his book (though he does present an attempt to consider things from a fundamental point of view - which could become a valuable element for some of his readers... but not for me).
Sorry, I would need more specified thoughts from your side in order to respond with more specified thoughts.
PS. I would like to add that I think I can understand your problem with Venkat's 'writing style'.
Re: CENTURIES-OLD TRADITIONAL PALMISTRY THEORIES PROVED WRONG?
Dear Mr. Martijin,
Thank you for your respond.
As I don’t have the book with me, I cannot write a proper review or comment or mention my idea about this book. I thought you have the book. I could see the only material which was available on the net in the link. Accordingly, I have to say that yes, the book belongs to the branch of 'predictive palmistry’ of course, but, I am skeptic about his findings, because the author neither mentioned his research report as when and how–number of persons-time–percent outcome - he conducted the research nor his predictions are repeatable to support his findings. At least findings must be repeatable. I think you would agree with me.
For example he mentioned on page #3 under Theory #1 that -the sloping Head Line denotes ‘financial strain belt’ as per his statistics cum logic oriented approach towards scientific research in palmistry. But, where is the report? It is not even‘folklore’ you see. I cannot confirm this.
And in the same manner, according to him -as he mentioned on the same page under theory #2 the straighter Head Line denotes expenditure out of control and in women this long straighter Head Line denotes ‘uterus problem’- its removal from the body and caesarean delivery. In one palm print I found so and in many other palm prints I did not find so.
And according to him if the Head Line is very straight, reaching up to the side of the palm under the mercury finger means expenditure out-of- control which includes regular loan repayment. Quite ridiculous indeed.
All in all, his claims to unlearn the old theories have no weight. And according to me he could not prove old theories wrong.
I am not impressed by the book contents whichever is available on net. Not a good book indeed.

Old discovered proved wrong
Dear Rarender/Martijn
I had procured the book from the author itself.Material inside is quite impressive and fascinating. However the cover page itself has a spelling mistake along with some pathetic hand prints in the Indian edition of the book.Spoke to the author who seemed quite enthusiastic about his work so far. However poor editing of the book makes it a difficult read.

Respected all members
Namste.
I have gone through this book previously and I have found some very interesting fact of old Indian Palmistry in the name of new idea i.e. head line means financial line. I have made good contact with Shri Anu Venkat. He became agree to come and teach us at my home town(Ahmedabad). He came to us and taught us. I have learnt many predictive things from this gentleman but I can say with much confident all things, what he has given in his book or in his teaching materials are not new many of them are our Indian traditional palmistry some of them are still in practice in the villages of north part of India.
He is very energetic person but not ready to listen, what other people tell. He is not able to tell the time of event from palm. He use or take the help of astrology to tell the time of event. I have more 700page materials + book (Palmistry A true science) him .Some points are very unique for forecasting of events.

I think no one book or a palmist is perfect in the world.

Re: CENTURIES-OLD TRADITIONAL PALMISTRY THEORIES PROVED WRONG?
Dear UB,
You have aroused interest and curiosity to find and read the book. I will try my best to get it one copy during my visit to Mumbai. Can I find there? But, my study is west based and scientific. Predictions must be repeatable.I must thank you anyway for your expert comment.

Re: CENTURIES-OLD TRADITIONAL PALMISTRY THEORIES PROVED WRONG?
When I saw the title CENTURIES-OLD TRADITIONAL THEORIES PROVED WRONG?
I thought this sounded interesting & exciting! But I have to say I am disappointed by reading the text (thanks for providing links to the book extracts Parender & Manfred). Whilst I agree that many old theories are proved wrong these days, Anu Venkat seems to displace them with even more 'dodgy' theories, about money. (I am not sure that money shows in the hand at all ??)
Parender you ask about "when and how–number of persons-time–percent outcome -" etc, I think I read somewhere about it being based on around 60-something people?
Thanks for this topic Parender, your interesting input Raman & many thanks to Upendrasingh for your personal first-hand report
(edit PS, thanks Upendrasingh for the photos of your workshop with Anu Venkat, great to put a face to the name!)

Dear Palmist - Mr.Anu Venkat,
I am a Maldivian from maldives , and i bought your book palmistry atrue science
recently.I had read a lot of books in palmistry and i found this book to be the most comprehensive and the best book so far in this field..You have talked a few times about a second book you are writing and it includes married life, delayed marriages and love affairs too..I would like to know when this book would be out to market.Indian palmistry says left hand for women and right for men..But after reading this book i realize this is not so..lines in the palm you are comparing with both hands isnt it.?.even head lines, life lines fate lines as well.
Do you think secondary lines like marriage lines also act like that?If for example
in a woman,s hand a deep love affair line is present after marriage line in left
hand but it is a fine lighter line in right hand.So do you think an extra marital
affair is likely.? i am very much forward waiting for your next book..
hoping for a reply if you can.
thanks
