The fingerprint in the pointer finger is most unique!

Every person has unique fingerprint. In the forensic sciences the process of comparing two fingerprints – known as ‘dactyloscopy‘ - is focussed on identifying tiny characteristics in the friction ridge skin. However, fingerprint pattern types are not unique at all: they e.g. fingerprint pattern types highly depend on sexe & race.
An new review of 5 international studies points out that the fingerprint type in the pointer finger is most unique because both the sexe- & race effect is smallest in the pointer finger!

Re: The fingerprint in the pointer finger is most unique!

... I have worked out a few more details:
The fingerprint in the pointer finger is most unique and it shows the highest variation.
While the fingerprint in the pinky finger is not only least unique: it show the smallest variation and when it doesn't display an 'ulnar loop' it usually correlates with the fingerprint type on the ring finger.

(Later I will present a few guidelines about how to analyse the 5 fingerprints in a hand in the perspective of the fingerprint type of the index finger)
