How can I change if I do not like what is in my hands?

Palmistry talk about a lot about a person and show us a holistic overview of life. However I think it is just a first step and If you like to do something about yourself then NLP offer a wonderful approach in personal and other's development.

It would be interesting to have hand prints of people before treatment and after successful treatment to see what changes.

That would certainly help pin point areas of life, expression, and thinking to particular areas of the hands.

I like the part where he discusses our negative programing in life. A number of markings in hands are considered negative by particular hand analysts, but sometimes these 'blocking' markings block negative programming from experiences in their upbringing.

Interestingly, it seems there has been no research or data supporting that NLP actually works. It is called a pseudo-science at Wikipedia:

I found it interesting that the founder in the videos above, said he had moved his interest to the field of hypnosis.

This is what his program is more about - maybe even a form brainwashing, certainly it's mind control.

I think the working part of NLP is that people can readjust their thinking. On the contrary, I think that the ways we each individually perceive the world around us via our senses are the unique factors that give us our personality, our persona. Many features in our hands that we use to describe people and their life paths are based on the fact that many of these features are considered permanent. This is our individuality - who we are.

hi Patti: NLP is not a science yet. It's definition given "NLP is a study of subjective experiences" in the Bandler's first book (Structure of Magic) shows to not relate it to science because science is study of objective experience. NLP is based on the work of Linguistic people such as Gregory Bateson, hypnotists such as Milton Erikson and Family Therapists such as Virginia Satir and now it study successful people from almost all fields.

. as this field is not much regulated there are many marketers claiming this. however it is not the case and hypnosis is a natural phenomena occurring in everyday life and NLP use it for good.

this is NLP all about. Multi perspective thinking.

Each person is different. it is not about giving up individuality. it is about being more effective in conveying that. In fact study of subjective experience mean NLP respect and look for something in every single opinion.

What NLP look for is not the content or the detail of life experience but it extract the structure of life experience and build on it.

NLP gives value to every single model of the world and never categorize people as "mentally restarted". Instead it see them as stuck at some point and/or highly proficient in practicing the wrong habits.

One such example is the one where a person named Andy said to have "Delusions" of seeing a TV program over and over again that shows dead babies and Andy see dead babies walking out of TV and running all over his house and it freak him out and leads to psychotic episodes.
Richard Bandler told him that he himself some time had experience like this and challenged Andy that he was not creative enough with his imagination and if he tuned in to the next TV channel he would find Playboy station running there......

It solved the problem and Andy was never scared again..
